Yo nerds!
It’s totally not awkward if you get tagged for a post and then don’t do it, and then over a month later from initially being tagged you remember to do it. Only a suave, charming, lovable dude would do such a thing.
On a totally unrelated note, I was tagged to do the NetGalley tag by both the Mandy and the India. My thanks to both ladies. You are better than a paddling pool full of cool fresh water on a hot summer day. Be sure to check out both ladies’ posts.
Hey ho! Let’s go!
THE RULES
Link back to the tag’s creator, Kourtni at Kourtni Reads
Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
Tag a few people to do this tag too.
AUTO-APPROVED: Who’s one author whose books you automatically want to read, regardless of what they are about?
What are the rules here? Do I have to choose authors whose books are likely to appear on NetGalley, or just in general? Just in general, you say – good! And I can choose more than one! You are awesome.
The Neil Gaiman
I love Gaiman’s writing. His stories are just wonderful. He wrote my all time favourite book, The Ocean at the End of the Lane. I also adore The Graveyard Book, Coraline, Stardust, and Neverwhere. His Sandman comics are some of the best comics ever.
The Rebecca Gransden
It’s not weird! Shush ya face. Anyone who has followed my blog this past year will know how much I adore Rebecca’s stories. I’ve read both her books multiple times, and I think I’ve read most of her stories published in other places. I genuinely look forward to new stories from Rebecca, and I’m very happy that I found her work earlier in the year. Rebecca has quickly become my favourite writer.
The Seanan McGuire
Technically, it’s just a particular series I will immediately read from Seanan McGuire. That being The Wayward Children series. I adore them. They are wonderful little pockets of joy. The books also contain a huge amount of diversity and I respect Seanan’s no fucks given approach to ensuring her characters are representative.
REQUEST: What makes you want to request a book on NetGalley?
I like the idea of receiving books before the general public. I’m very shallow and this helps me value my worth.
BADGES: If you could create one badge to display on your blog, what would it be?
It would have to be a Random Melon badge, right?! What else could it be? It’s rhetorical, I can’t hear you answering… awks. The badge would be awarded to people based on a very complex algorithm, and people could speculate on what they need to do to get it. Reddit would go crazy with conspiracy theories. It looks like this.
WISH FOR IT: What’s one book that you are absolutely dying to read?
Right now? The Winter of the Witch by the Katherine Arden. It’s the final in the Winternight Trilogy. I adored the first two books and I can’t wait to get back to spending time with the Vasya. Also, just look at this cover!
2018 NETGALLEY CHALLENGE: What was the last ARC that you reviewed?
The last ARC I reviewed that I got from NetGalley is The Toymakers by the Robert Dinsdale. I’ve reviewed other ARCs since, but I got them direct from the author. I’ve been a bit shit at reviewing NetGalley stuff recently. Shame on me.

Thanks for tagging me and for The Alexandra, again! It’s fun! 🙂 How long have you been using NetGalley? (How long have you been reviewing books, at all?) I first thought it was the badge you created – your blog logo and “Wish for it!” under the logo. That would be a nice one :))

I joined NetGalley in Oct 2017, because I wanted a book in particular. I was lucky to get it. I started this blog in Sep 2017, but I was writing reviews on goodreads for a few months before that.

I am SO keen to read ‘The Winter of the Witch’ as well. And one day I get the physical copies too. They are absolutely stunning! For now, I read the ebooks.

Thank you for the tag! 😀
I really need to read the second book in the Winternight Trilogy. I greatly enjoyed the first one.

The second book has less character and world building, and more action. It’s still just as good. 🙂
