EDIT: As you will read, this post was going to be one of thirteen as I attempted to complete Blogoween. But life got in the way and I did no complete any other Blogoween posts. I was going to take this post down, but decided to leave it here for the lols.
Yo creeps! Looky here, it’s day 1 of #blogoween! Look at the new halloween/spooky graphics. Do you like it? If you like it, then… put a ring on it, or something like that. I dunno what you cool kids do these days! And by ‘put a ring on it’ I mean, buy me donuts.
Blogoween is a month long book blogging event organised by the marvellous The Clo and the equally the marvellous The Sam. Each day has a prompt hosted by a book blogger.
I signed up for Tier 1 – 13 Days of Blogoween. Today is day 1 of my 13 day challenge. You can check out the plans for my other days here. Be sure to check out the #blogoween hashtag on the twitter dot com to keep up with all the other awesome bloggers that are taking part.
Today’s post is the Halloween Creatures 2.0 Book Tag hosted by Anthony at Keep Reading Forward. You can check out his post here.
Hey ho! Let’s go!
All images link to the book’s Goodreads page.
Witch
A Magical Character or Book.
A Dark Forest comics by Kate-Mia White. They are difficult to get hold of, and they have some spelling and grammar mistakes throughout, but I love these comics. They are just… magical! Dyageddit? Do ya see what I did there?! I’m not just a pretty face. The art is… well… look at it. It’s beautiful.
Werewolf
The Perfect Book to Read at Night.
Look, I know it ain’t the greatest story, but the mood is perfect for night time reading.
Frankenstein
A Book that Truly Shocked You.
I went in to this thinking it was a YA vampire story. Oh boy, was I ever wrong?! I really enjoyed it, and there are some extremely shocking scenes throughout. But not in the way you might think. If you haven’t read this, you should.
The Devil
A Dark, Evil Character.
The Girl in the Well is a truly evil character.
Grim Reaper
A Character that Should Never Have Died.
This is a difficult one without giving spoilers. But there is a character death in this, that absolutely sucks. If you are not fussed about spoilers, read my spoiler full post comparing the comic and the tv show. Then give the comic a miss because it also sucks, and instead, watch the show because it’s marvellous.
Zombie
A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More.
It was inevitable. One day I will learn to make a list of books and not put a Rebecca Gransden book on there. Today is not that day. After finishing this collection of short stories, I instantly wanted more. There could have been 50 more stories in this and it would not have been enough.
Gargoyle
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost.
Oh Vasya, I know I don’t speak of you much these days, but you are forever in my heart.
Vampire
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You.
Many people loved this, but I really didn’t. It took a lot of effort for me to get to the end.
Ghost
A Book that Still Haunts You.
Don’t look at me like that. It’s my blog and I can fanboy if I want to. I regularly think about this book, and the characters within. Who even is Tinker?! Sigh. I’ll never know.
Demon
A Book that Really Scared You.
I don’t scare easy. I rarely read something that causes me to get scared. I really struggled to answer this question, but the witch in this and some of the things she does freaked me out.
Skeleton
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With.
Violet’s mother. I’m not even going to go there right now. But… WHAT A BITCH!
Mummy
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time.
It was one of my first loves. And it was my all time favourite for a long time. I still read this at least once a year. It’s a book I go to when I’m not feeling good. It has a nice, comfortable feeling to it. And therefore, for a wholly selfish reason, it must be preserved throughout time.
Creepy Doll
A Cover too Scary to Look At.
Is this even a thing? Do people get scared looking at book covers? Creepy kids are creepy so this was the best I could find.
The Monster Mash
It’s Fun to Be with Friends on Halloween! Tag Your Friends!
If only there was a group of blogging folk that I bloody love reading that I could list here.
The IgnitedMoth
The John
The Liz
The Matilda
The Nicki
The Norrie
The Sara
The Sarah
You don’t need to be taking part in blogoween to do this. You can just do it as a regular perfect October tag.
That was a tough tag. I really struggled with some of them, but it was fun and with the help of hopes and wishes and puppy dog tails, (and my Goodreads read list) I did it dad!
Join me tomorrow for my second blogoween post. Anyway, I’m off to find a super scary book that actually scares me. Until next time, Rest in Pieces and Labefaction!

Kids are just creepy! XD And yes, read Hex. It is mega creepy, and full of nipples. (Not even joking!)

Ha, interesting!
The last book i recall with plenty of nipples was from the Courtney series, written by Wilbur Smith… haha. 😀

The girl in the well sure was evil. That reminded me that I still have to get around to reading the rest of the series hahah Did you finish the series? 😮

I haven’t… yet. I have them all, but I’ve only read vol 1 and 2. I was a little disappointed with Vol 2. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t leave me desperate to read vol 3. I will get to them one day, because the concept and hook of having the different keys is really intriguing. I just wish the plot was a little better paced.

🙂 Them tags just keep on coming and I love it- thank you! 🙂
I’ve never been much of a Halloween person.. mainly because in Estonia, growing up, we have different (similar) holidays on a different dates… It all goes back to the pagan stuff again but there;s still candy involved 😀 hahaha… we just go to houses, sing behind doors and throw some grain on the household’s floor and wish them a good year with cattle next year 😀 … or smth like that 😀
This is a cool tag and darn it, I’ve been meaning to get my hands on Hex and Let the Right One In! So, thanks for reminding me of those 😉
PS! Love the blog Halloween/Creepy look 😉
