The Rapid Fire Book Tag

I was tagged by Taiwo @ Stuffed Shelves to do the Rapid Fire Book Tag. I also saw that Danielle @ The Introverted Book Nerd did this and thought ‘Oh, that tag is cool! It’s one I could probably do’ so I was a happy little elf when I was tagged.

Let’s just get on with it shall we?

Ebook or Physical Book
eBook. Easier to carry around and I love the Kindle Notes function.

Paperback or Hardback

Online or In-Store Book Shopping
Online. My hermit heart doesn’t like public places.

Trilogies or Series

Heroes or Villains
Well, if a book is written well, as much as I may like the villain, I would end up rooting for the hero.

A Book I Want Everyone To Read
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. Or recently, The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden WHAT A SHOCKER!

Recommend an Underrated Book
The bible. I don’t think it has been read by as many people who claim to have done so.

The Last Book I Finished
The last novel was The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden. It was alright I s’pose. Earlier today I read the comic Skin & Earth #1 by Lights. That was good.

Weirdest Thing I’ve Used As a Bookmark
Hopes and wishes.

Used Books – Yes or No?

Top Three Favourite Genres
Metal, Blues and Folk.

Borrow or Buy?
Buy. I have a self imposed ‘must not borrow books from anyone’ rule.

Characters or Plot?
Oooooo that’s a hard one (she said). Probably characters.

Long or Short Books
Short books. I have problems with short term memory, so if a novel is too long, I literally forget what happens in them mid-read.

Long or Short Chapters?
Short. See above. Unless it’s a really good book that I am fully invested in.

The First Three Books I can Think Of
– The Voynich Manuscript by unknown
– The Big Penis Book by Dian Hanson
– The Little Book of Whittling by Chris Lubkemann

Our World or a Fictional World
Our world.

Audiobooks – Yes or No?

Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?

Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations
Oh, well 5 years ago I would probably have said movie, but I think these days book to TV tends to be better.

A Movie or TV Show I preferred to its Book

Series or Standalone
Standalone. But I don’t mind a good series as long as the story stay fresh.

So that’s it. I’ve decided I like tags like this. They are super quick and easy and take little to no time to complete. My kind of assignment! 🙂

I still don’t really know people well enough to start tagging folk, but feel free to do this if you want!

Peace and Love.

  1. Ooohh that’s a hard one she said! Quality!😂😂😂

I think the question on genre means genre of book, I’m presuming metal, blues and folk is music.😂 Though metal rules in any form.🤘

I totally agree with books to TV being better, you get more time with a TV series to do the book justice and not cut out lots of stuff.

The Big Penis book! – will we be seeing a review for it on the blog?😀

  2. The Girl was alright? hahaha, man did you downplay this one! XD unless your short memory is to blame here 😀
This was fun and I love that The Big Peinis book was in your head just like that, sitting there… *goes to goodreads to check if the book actually exists*… oh-kay! the book exists… and what the frack is The Voynich Manuscript? OK, admit it- you probably googled like top 3 weirdest books for that specific Q in the tag, am I right? 😀

  3. I keep meaning to read The Ocean at the End of the Lane after reading your review. I’m pretty you said it was so good that you wanted to take it on holiday to Wales? I was looking at it in Waterstones and said that a book blogger had said that was how good it was and she looked at me a bit strange 😛 Awesome answers! I’m with you on buy. So much stress with borrowing! Some people really freak out over you bending the spines 😦

    1. Haha, there’s nothing weird about wanting to take it on holiday to the south of wales at all 😛 How else am I supposed to show it that I appreciate it? 🙂
I panic when people lend me books. My books get battered as they are in and out of my bag all the time, plus, it may take me forever to get to reading it and then I forget if I have borrowed the book or bought it. After I pissed off several people with this, I decided it was just better to be poor and buy my own copies. Also, I love breaking the spine. I love battered books that look loved.
